Spectacle blinds or line blanks are flat plates sandwiched between flanges for positive isolation of process fluid. Spectacle blinds, male RTJ design as per ASME B16.48 are used for sandwiching between RTJ flanges and because the gasket is an integral part of its design, requires no additional gaskets for installation unlike female ring joint spectacle blinds which require two pairs of gaskets. Table below provides links to dimensions of male RTJ spectacle blinds as per ASME B16.48 for installation between ASME B16.5 flanges.
