How does a inverted bucket trap work? Resolved Locked
An inverted bucket trap operates based on the difference in density between steam and water. When steam enters the trap it causes the bucket to float (due to buoyancy) causing the discharge valve to close. When condensate enters, it causes the trapped steam to condense and the bucket to sink causing the discharge valve to open and discharge the condensate.
